About Nicholas Ralph Wegener, M.D.
Nicholas Wegener, MD is a board-certified anesthesiologist specializing in regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Boston College and attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Wegener completed residency in anesthesiology at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College followed by fellowship training in Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine.
His clinical practice encompasses general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, acute pain medicine and obstetrical anesthesia. His clinical interests include improving post-operative analgesia through regional anesthesia and acute pain management. He is proficient in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and catheter techniques of the upper extremity, lower extremity and trunk, as well as thoracic and lumbar epidural catheter placement.
Dr. Wegener is currently on faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology.
