About Us

The Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Program offers thorough evaluation and comprehensive treatment for patients up 24 years of age as new patient and 26 years old as follow-up with various disorders of the immune system including allergies and asthma, and those with severe, recurrent, or opportunistic infections with primary immunodeficiencies or inborn errors of immunity. Affiliated with the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy & Immunology at AV研究所 and聽Children鈥檚 Hospital of New York at NewYork-Presbyterian, our patients have access to doctors and healthcare professionals across various pediatric sub-specialties when needed.聽

Services & Programs

Our allergy specialists care for infants, children, and adolescents with:

  • Allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
  • Asthma
  • Food allergy (IgE-mediated) and other gastrointestinal disorders such as eosinophilic esophagitis and food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (non IgE-mediated)
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Drug allergy
  • Urticaria (hives) and Angioedema (swelling)
  • Atopic dermatitis (eczema)
  • Contact dermatitis

Pediatric Psychology聽services are available for our patients. Our food allergy psychologists are specialized in treating anxiety, trauma, and social, or behavioral challenges associated with managing severe food allergies. Youth with acute or chronic medical illness are at greater risk for mental health concerns. The Pediatric Psychology Service provides short-term mental health consultation and treatment and collaborates directly with our medical team.

Pediatric Nutrition聽services are available for our food allergy patients.

Diagnosis & Treatment

To determine the cause of your child's symptoms, we offer an array of diagnostic tests, such as:

  • Thorough medical history, family history, and physical examination
  • Skin testing for food, drug and environmental allergies
  • Pulmonary function testing for patients with asthma
  • Blood tests to evaluate immune system function

We offer a wide range of treatments for children with allergies and immunodeficiencies and customize our treatment approach to your child's specific medical condition. Our therapies may include:

  • Immunotherapy (allergy shots and under-the-tongue treatments), which can help your child develop a tolerance to environmental allergens
  • Biologic therapies for eczema, hives, rhinosinusitis, food allergy, and asthma
  • Oral food and drug challenges
  • Food oral immunotherapy assessment and referral services
